Learning to steward conversations, relationships and change together.
Weaving Futures is a growing public learning ecosystem for people navigating change — in work, community, identity and the wider systems around us.
It began with a simple question:
What kinds of learning communities do we need for the times ahead?
Rather than building another course or conference, we are experimenting with spaces where people can learn through conversation, practice, reflection and participation — alongside others who are also figuring things out.
Our next step is a series of small Practice Labs.

From gathering to practice
In October 2026, Weaving Futures brought together a growing community through a two-day Open Space gathering at Ground-Up Initiative.
The agenda was not designed in advance.
Participants brought the questions they were actually carrying — about work, AI, transitions, belonging, youth, community, friendship, sustainability, facilitation and the future.
Before the gathering, people were already asking questions such as:
- How do we support one another through transitions?
- What does a meaningful community look like today?
- How can we stay human in a world increasingly shaped by AI?
- How do we move from surviving to thriving?
- What does stewardship look like — for ourselves, our organisations and the wider world?
The intention was never to answer all of these in two days.
70+ Participants | 11 Founding Facilitators | 3 Practice Labs | 1 Growing Community
It was to create the conditions for people to find one another around the questions that matter — and then create ways to continue practising together.

Where we are now
As of October 2026, Weaving Futures has grown to:
70+ participants supporting the first Launch Gathering
11 founding facilitators learning and designing together
3 emerging Practice Labs
1 shared experiment in flexible contribution, equal access and community stewardship
We are also learning how an ecosystem like this might sustain itself differently.
Our first gathering used a flexible community contribution model: people contributed according to their capacity, while everyone entered the gathering with equal access and standing.
Some contributed financially.
Some contributed time, facilitation, volunteering, relationships or care.
Community Supporters also helped us make supported places available for students and young people.
The principle is simple:
Different contributions. Same access. Same standing.
What impact are we trying to create?
We are interested in impact that continues beyond an event.
More agency
Helping people see more choices and possibilities in moments of uncertainty or transition.
Stronger relationships
Creating opportunities for people across generations, professions and communities to meet beyond their usual circles.
Better stewardship
Developing the capacity to host conversations, communities and change without needing to control everything that emerges.
Communities as learning infrastructure
Moving beyond learning as something delivered by an expert — towards communities where people learn through practice, reflection and one another.
More regenerative ways of working together
Exploring how time, money, knowledge, care and responsibility can circulate in ways that sustain both individuals and the wider community.

The next chapter: Practice Labs
The Launch Gathering is only one doorway.
We are now exploring small, facilitated learning cohorts where participants can go deeper into areas that have emerged through the community.
🌱 Youth Capability
How might we help young people develop agency and see more possibilities for themselves?
For people interested in youth development, education, mentoring, community work and creating spaces where younger people can explore who they are becoming.
Indicative sustaining cost: ~SGD450 per participant
—
🔄 Transitions
How do we navigate changes in work, life and identity?
For people experiencing or supporting career shifts, life transitions, changing identities and periods where the old map no longer quite works.
Indicative sustaining cost: ~SGD700 per participant
—
🤝 Community Facilitation
How do we become better hosts and stewards of the communities we are part of?
For facilitators, community builders and people increasingly finding themselves responsible for creating conditions where others can participate, connect and contribute.
Indicative sustaining cost: ~SGD850 per participant
A different approach to pricing
We are exploring a sliding-scale contribution model for the Labs.
The intention is to balance two things that can sometimes feel in tension:
- Accessibility — people should not be excluded simply because they cannot afford the highest price.
- Sustainability — facilitators, programme design and the wider ecosystem should not depend indefinitely on invisible or unpaid labour.
Some participants may need a supported place.
Some may contribute around the sustaining cost.
Others may choose to contribute more so that someone else can participate.
We are still learning what the right balance looks like.
Your response to the interest form will help us shape it.
How we learn
Weaving Futures is not designed around lectures or fixed answers.
Our approach draws from practices including Open Space Technology, experiential learning, facilitation, coaching and reflective practice.
You can expect a mixture of:
Experience → Reflection → Sense-making → Practice
The aim is not simply to leave knowing more.
It is to leave seeing differently, relating differently, or being able to do something you could not do before.

What we are learning too
Weaving Futures itself is an experiment.
We are learning how to:
- create learning spaces without over-designing them
- share stewardship across a community
- balance individual needs with the health of the whole
- make participation accessible without relying on burnout
- support relationships that continue beyond individual programmes
- allow new initiatives to emerge from the people involved
One idea keeps returning:
> Stewardship is different from ownership.
If Weaving Futures is to become larger than the people who started it, none of us can know or control exactly where it needs to go.
We can create conditions, tend relationships and pay attention to what wants to emerge next.
Interested in joining a Practice Lab?
You do not need to commit yet.
The interest form helps us understand:
- which Lab you are most drawn to
- what you hope to explore
- what contribution range would make participation realistic
- when you might be available
Your response will help the facilitator teams shape the first cohorts.
